Maritzburg College placed third in the national war cry competition hosted by 5FM radio station.
Maritzburg College’s war cry videos had gone viral on social media, attracting huge audiences on different social media platforms.
The title of 5FM National War Cry Champions 2024 went to St Stithians Girls’ College.

The competition, which has been trending online, is to determine the ultimate champions of the high school war cry in the country. Several schools joined in by submitting their war cry videos, including St Charles College and Hilton College.
Maritzburg College’s war cries were an integral and proud part of the school’s 161-year history and it is also the way that their boys celebrate and build their special #RedBlackWhite spirit.
